Getting to the event
Where is the event taking place?
The Race Stadium is located at Southsea Common, Portsmouth. The main entry is located on Brian Kidd Way next to the D-Day Story Museum.
How do I get to the event?
We’re an event powered by nature and with sustainability at the forefront of all actions. We encourage all our event attendees to use public transportation options and walk or cycle wherever possible. There are likely to be road closures in place on the date of the event so please plan your journey accordingly.
Portsmouth has 3 train stations within walking or bus journey distance of the event site:
- Portsmouth Harbour - 40 min walk or catch the number 23 or 3 bus to Southsea.
- Portsmouth & Southsea - 35 min walk or catch the number 23 or 3 bus to Southsea.
- Fratton - 38 min walk or catch the number 18 bus to Clarence Pier.
Is there parking available?
There is no official event parking at this event. We encourage all our event attendees to use public transportation options.
Can I get dropped off by taxi?
Yes, a drop off will be available near the Race Stadium on Clarence Esplanade, east of Jack Cockerill Way and will be clearly signposted.

What is in the Race Stadium?
The Race Stadium is the central hub of the event, engineered to put every fan at the heart of the action. Your ticket provides access to a high-performance environment featuring:

Ticket Information
How do I buy tickets?
Official tickets for SailGP events are sold through our global ticketing partner Fever.
To purchase your tickets:
Via the Web: Visit the official SailGP Tickets page to browse upcoming events and secure your spot.
Via the Fever App: Download the Fever app (available from Google Play or the Apple App Store), log in, search for "SailGP," select your preferred race date and ticket type and complete the checkout.
Early Access: Members of SailGP+ receive exclusive presale access and the best available prices before tickets are released to the general public. You can sign up for free at SailGP.com
Important: All unapproved resale is prohibited. Tickets purchased through third-party sellers or unofficial platforms may be denied entry.
How many tickets can I buy?
Ticket limits apply to all orders: a maximum of 24 tickets for Grandstand seating and 15 tickets for our premium products. For purchases above the designated limits, please contact our Groups Booking team.
When will I receive my ticket(s)?
Tickets will be issued approximately ten days prior to the event date, and you will receive a contact email to let you know they are available. Please check your spam folder in case the update gets diverted from your inbox. If you haven’t received your tickets within five days of the event, please contact ticketing@sailgp.com.
Do I need to print my ticket(s)?
No, you can find your ticket(s) in the "Tickets" section of the Fever app (you can download it from Google Play or the Apple App Store). Please remember to log in with the same login/email method used to make the purchase. Your QR codes will appear in the Fever app ten days before the event takes place.
I can't find my ticket(s). What should I do?
You can view your ticket(s) in the Fever app, within the "Tickets" section. If you don't have the app installed, you can download it from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Remember to log in using the same account that you used when buying the tickets. If you still cannot find your ticket, please contact us at ticketing@sailgp.com.
Can I transfer my ticket(s) to another person?
Absolutely! Once your ticket(s) have been issued (approximately ten days before the event), please follow the ticket transfer instructions from Fever here.
Please note that we do not accept screenshots.
Can I change the date of my ticket(s)?
Tickets are only valid for the date selected at purchase, and we’re not able to make changes once confirmed. We recommend double-checking all details carefully before booking to make sure you choose the option that works best for you.
What is your re-entry policy?
There is no re-entry. Once you have left the race stadium, you will not be permitted back in.
What is your refund policy?
All tickets are non-refundable once the purchase has been completed, unless stated otherwise in our refund policy found here.
How do I get a tax invoice for my purchase?
Please contact us at ticketing@sailgp.com with your order number and required details for the invoice, and we will issue this to you via email.
Are children allowed?
Yes, children are permitted into the Race Stadium - anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Ticket specifications:
- Anyone aged 18 or over must have an Adult ticket.
- Children aged 5 –17 require a valid Child ticket.
- Children under 5 can access the Race Stadium free of charge and do not require a ticket, but must sit on an adult's lap in the grandstand.
Please note that age restrictions may apply to specific on-water products, and these can vary by event.
Do you offer family ticket bundles?
Yes. Family bundles are available for two adults and two children only. This package offers a discounted rate compared to purchasing individual tickets.
Accessible tickets cannot be used in conjunction with a family bundle. Guests requiring accessibility accommodations should instead select one accessible ticket, one free companion ticket, and two child tickets, which will work out to a similar or lower price than the family bundle.
Can I bring a buggy or pram?
Yes, buggies and prams are welcome in the Race Stadium. However, to keep walkways and the race stadium clear, any buggy not in use must be stored in our designated parking areas.
Please do not leave buggies unattended in unauthorized areas. Please note that all items are left in the parking area at the owner's risk; SailGP won’t accept responsibility for any loss or damage.
Restricted View Seats
Some seats are tagged as Potentially Restricted View. These seats may have partially obscured sightlines due to LED screens or supporting structures within the grandstand area. Final sightlines will be confirmed once the event infrastructure is in place. If any seats are identified as having a restricted view, they’ll be clearly marked as Restricted View on the ticketing page ahead of the event.

SailGP is dedicated to providing an inclusive experience for every fan. We work hard to ensure our site, services, and facilities are as accessible as possible so that all guests feel welcome.
Is the event site step-free?
No. Standard grandstand seating requires climbing several steps. Step-free access is only available within our designated accessible viewing area, which is clearly marked on the race stadium map. Please consider this when planning your visit.
How do I book accessible tickets?
- Separate Booking: Wheelchair-accessible viewing must be booked as a specific “Wheelchair” or "Accessible" ticket item, as these are separate from general-access tickets.
- Reserved Areas: Purchasing an accessible ticket guarantees your place within our dedicated accessible viewing area.
- Companions: One complimentary companion ticket can be added to your order at the point of purchase to join you in the accessible viewing area.
- Extra Attendees: Additional friends or family are welcome to purchase general-access tickets for the grandstand seating located nearest to the accessible sections.

Are carers admitted free?
Yes, one free ticket per accessibility booking. These are available to add to your basket as a “Companion” during the purchase process when adding an Accessible ticket.
General Facilities
Race Stadium facilities are accessible to all, including catering and bar outlets, the fan store, and toilets. Unfortunately, no hearing loop will be available at this event.
Are assistance dogs allowed?
Yes, registered assistance dogs only.
Ground Information
All ground surfaces within the site are hard. Some areas within the Race Stadium may be uneven, and kerbs are present around the event space and parking areas. Ramped access will be provided where needed to support wheelchair access throughout the site, with Event Ambassadors available to assist where required.
Is there an accessible drop-off point closer to the Race Stadium?
An accessible drop-off point will be available close to the Race Stadium. Information about the location will be provided in the pre-event email communications.
Weather & what to bring
Will there be shaded areas?
Grandstand seating is open to the elements and unshaded. For a covered view of the race, the VELA options include overhead shade.
Will this event take place rain or shine?
The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine. Racing may be brought forward or delayed if conditions or weather forecasts are unsafe. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, the event cannot be held, we will notify you via email at the same address linked to your Fever account. When in doubt, please remember to check your spam folder too.
In the event of inclement weather causing the cancellation of racing, refunds would be offered in line with the Refund Policy on our website.
What should I bring?
SailGP is an outdoor event, so we recommend dressing for the elements to stay comfortable throughout the race day:
Weather Prep: Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for sunny spells, plus a light jacket or raincoat as conditions by the water can change quickly.
Footwear: Choose comfortable shoes suitable for walking on hard surfaces.
Hydration: Single-use plastic bottles are not permitted. Please bring a reusable water bottle to use at our refill stations.
Please note: To ensure clear views for everyone, umbrellas are not allowed in the grandstands.
Dress Code
Dress Code
There is no official dress code for SailGP events, but we are an outdoor event, so we strongly recommend you prepare for the weather forecast. Bring a hat, high SPF sunscreen, and drink plenty of water if sunny weather is forecast. Pack a raincoat and warmer layers if rain is looking more likely. NOTE: Large umbrellas are not permitted in the grandstands as this will disrupt the view for other fans.
Security & Prohibited Items
Are there bag checks?
Yes, all bags will be searched at the entry.
For your safety, it is a condition of entry that all bags are subject to inspection by our security team before you can enter the event site. Carefully check the list of prohibited items (see Security section or Event Terms & Conditions) to ensure you don’t accidentally bring a forbidden item on the day. Please do not leave bags or personal items unattended or anywhere they could cause concern for our security team, and all items are brought to the event at your own risk.
What items are prohibited?
For your safety and the enjoyment of all guests, the following items are not permitted inside the event site: Glass, cans, single-use plastic (including disposable water bottles), BBQs, weapons, illegal substances, fireworks, flares, political materials, portable speakers and other potentially disruptive or dangerous items. This is not an exhaustive list. Permitted items are at the discretion of our Security Manager and may vary based on local licensing conditions. All bags are subject to inspection. Any prohibited items will be confiscated and disposed of by event security and cannot be returned after the event. Please review our full list of prohibited items HERE.
What is your bag policy?
One small bag (max. 30 x 30 cm) + one clutch/purse per person.
Animals
Animals, are not permitted within the event site aside from registered assistance dogs
Can I bring a camera?
Race Stadium ticket holders may bring small personal cameras and mobile devices for non-commercial use.
The following items are not permitted unless you have prior Filming Accreditation:
- Camera tripods or monopods
- Telephoto lenses with a focal length greater than 200mm
- Video cameras or handycams
- Audio recording equipment
- Drones
Security teams assess equipment at the gate based on appearance and capability, and final decisions rest with event staff. If you are unsure whether your equipment will be permitted, please do not bring it. All items remain subject to the Event Access Terms and Conditions.
Can I fly my own drone / UAV?
No. There is a legally enforced Air Exclusion Zone in place during the event. Unauthorized drones are strictly prohibited on or in the vicinity of the event site and our on-water race course, as they are dangerous to SailGP helicopter and drone operations.
Food and Beverage Vendors
Are food and drink available on site?
Yes, there will be a selection of food & beverage available for purchase within the race stadium, with a focus on providing locally sourced and sustainable ingredients.
We ask that you please recycle all your leftover food packaging using the recycling bins positioned around the event site. Please note: as our vendors all strive to purchase their ingredients from sustainable and local sources as much as possible, menus and associated pricing may be different on each race day.
Can I bring my own food/drinks?
No external food, drinks, or coolers can be brought into the Race Stadium.
Exceptions will only be made for medically necessary items or baby food after proper inspection.
Do you have water refill stations?
Yes. Free drinking water refill stations are available inside the Race Stadium. Please bring a reusable water bottle and arrive with it empty so you can fill it once inside.\
SailGP works to divert as much waste from landfill as possible, so absolutely no single-use plastic bottles are permitted in the Race Stadium. These will be confiscated during our entry searches and recycled by our local waste management vendor.
Facilities
Are there toilet facilities on-site?
Yes, including accessible toilet facilities.
Is there a Quiet Room available?
We do not have dedicated quiet rooms at SailGP events. However, if you need a quieter space at any time, please speak to a member of our event staff, and we will do our best to help find a suitable area where you can take a moment away from the activity.
What first aid facilities are on-site?
First aid stations will be situated in the Race Stadium. If you need assistance, please approach any member of our first aid team or any SailGP staff member to direct you to the closest location.
Is there a left luggage facility?
There is no left luggage facility available within the Race Stadium. Please plan ahead and check the prohibited items list and permitted bag sizes before you leave your home. Prohibited items will be confiscated and disposed of by our security staff before you can enter the event site. Confiscated items cannot be returned at the end of your visit.
Can I smoke or vape in the stadium?
No, the Race Stadium is a smoke and vape-free zone.
Is there a fan store?
Yes. The onsite SailGP fan store will be located within the Race Stadium and open to ticket holders during event hours. The store will provide official league and team apparel via card-only payments, opening at gate time and closing shortly after the final race.
Parking
There is no official event parking at this event. We encourage all our event attendees to use public transportation options where possible.
Lost and Found Property
Lost and Found Property
Any lost property handed in to the Ticket Office or event security will be held until the conclusion of the event. Significant items such as wallets or mobile phones will then be handed over to the local police. All other unclaimed items will be disposed of. If you have lost an item during the event, please speak to a member of our Event Ambassadors who can assist you.
